Bushfires

Bushfires
WALT:Summarise information in a text
Analysing skills to select key information to summarise the cause and effect of Natural Disasters.
A Bushfire is something that is very hot and can be 1 meter in height and can get up to 800͒C. The Effect of this is that it could spread to the houses and burn the houses down. You could be homeless, lose your house. It’s so hot that you could get burnt or even killed. Bushfires cause terrible damage. The Bushfire is caused by the drier trees and plants that have been dried. The Sun as it is shining it shines on the Trees and Plants which makes the Trees and Plants form a type of moist the makes a Bushfire.

Natural Disasters

How were people affected by Natural Disasters?
People can affected by them getting injured and people losing their families, Their houses were flooded away and their cars were damp. In a Cyclone Gita people got hurt and people mostly kids were scared and also some of them were killed and the water everywhere was not working. In New Zealand Christchurch there was a Earthquake and 65 people died and others were injured. A woman was found injured on her face.

Houses were damp, Roofs have been blown over and people got injured because the Roofs and the parts of houses and buildings have fallen on them.

Here is my Brainstorm that i did with Faafiu, Teresa, Edith and Fine.

Maths

Maths
Today in maths we got into groups of 4 or 5 then Miss Komor handed out the Maths Games and we played each other and challenged each other the game that my team was doing was Dice. When we were playing Dice we had to have normal Dice and we had to multiple it by that number and I felt that some of the Times Tables were challenging because some of them I didn't know. And we also did Division I felt Division easy because I got most of them right. Then we played a game of Cards, in Cards we had to put on on our head and also multiple it by that number but you weren't allowed to look at the Card you had. Then we also division.

My highlight for Math was Dice because it was easier to know what the answer was because when we were playing with the cards it would be harder because you had to try and guess what your number was.

Earthquakes, Natural Disasters

Earthquakes
WALT:Research about the different types of Natural Disasters
People have discovered that Earthquakes happen all around the world. And there is, or was Earthquakes on planet Mercury. Earthquakes are usually caused by earth's two plates shaking together or layering on top of eachother which makes the earth shake and form cracks in the ground. But some people also think that Earthquakes happen by big rocks under the ground that creates some wave that makes a Earthquake.

Earthquake definition
The definition of a Earthquake is Earthquakes the plates under ground starts to shake and it causes the Earth to shake and make cracks in the ground and if the Earthquake is strong then it might even cause a sink hole to appear.

What is a Natural Disaster?
A Natural Disaster is something that Naturally happens on Earth and it is created by Earth's movement and that is also how it creates Natural Disasters.

Facts and others:
Can Humans be affected by Earthquakes?
Yes Humans can be affected by Earthquakes because the could lose there houses in the earthquake and all there valuables could break. Also you could get injured be falling in a crack when you are driving a car.

Can we stop Earthquakes from happening?

As I was researching about this question I have found out that no you cannot stop Earthquakes from happening because it is far to large and farr to dangerous for us to try and stop Earthquakes from happening.

When the Earth shakes
People believe that the ground doesn't shake but the Earth moves during a Earthquake because of the plates that are under the ground they move and form a earthquake as I said in the first paragraph.

Fun Fact
Did you know that in Canada Earthquakes are to be know as rare because Canada doesn't really have Earthquakes but they do have hail storms.

What I did on the first day of term 3

What I did on the first day of term 3
On the first of term 3 at school we did a reflection about what we did In the holidays and also write what we would like to improve on this term and what we are looking forward to this term also. Then in the second block

What I did in the first block!

What I did in the first block!
Today in the first block Miss Komor and Ms Fepuleai told us to try and define what social science and science means and we also talked about what Natural Disasters means. Then we did a test, our test was about Maths and improving in our maths so our teachers could see how good we were doing and what we need to work on in maths. The maths test was 40 minutes long. I felt that the test frustrating because i'm not good at maths and some of the questions were confusing and hard to answer but I managed to get through the questions. My favourite part of this block is talking and defining what Natural Disasters is because I like trying to define what Natural Disaster means.

Another thing that I enjoyed about this block is finding out what Social Science and Science means so I think this first block was interesting because I learnt what Social Science and Science means.
