Reading (Carra)

(Reading)
Yesterday in reading we got split into our groups for reading and I was in Ms Komor group. In Ms Komor's group she sent us a presentation to click on a site so we could read this text called Low Tide. The story was about this family the wife, Husband and a son with their Cat called Mikey, and there house was in a flood and the wife was at work when the son and father had to pack their things but also look for their cat Mikey.

I liked this text because it was interesting to read and it had a lot of figurative language in it such as “Mikey!” he called, searching the rooms before checking the back garden and then the front. No response. “Mikey!”. and in that text the highlighted part was using Onomatopoeia.

Maths

(Maths)
I really enjoyed this lesson of maths, in Maths we did a test about what we learnt. We had 4-6 problems to answer and most of the problems were related on what we did in the past few weeks such as improper fractions and proper fractions.

Image result for mathsI felt that this test helped me improve on Maths because when I first started I didn't know much about proper Fractions and improper fractions. I enjoyed doing maths because some of the problems were easy for me and some others were hard for me. And I really hope that we get another chance to do another test on maths because I really enjoyed the first one.

Technology

Today in Technology we did a 3D and 2D shapes and what are the difference between them. I enjoyed this because we got to use this tool called a compass, and we also got to colour and draw shapes.

I hope we do this again so I can do better at doing this by practising.

ღWhat Now came to our schoolღ
On sunday WHAT NOW came to our school, I was really fascinated and excited to see Ronnie, Erin and Chris. We watched and did activities such as Kaha Kids, Clash of clones and also people came to sing and do a maori dance.

I enjoyed WHAT NOW coming to Tamaki Primary because WHAT NOW has never been to our school and I really loved going to WHAT NOW.

Trip to the Museum

✦Trip to the Museum✦
IALT:Write a reflection about the Museum trip!
I loved the trip to the museum. We met two instructors Wendy and Angelique. They taught us how to use the different types of tools, we got to play around with Virtual Reality, Green screen, 3D paint, Tinkercad and slow motion. Virtual reality would be my favourite because it felt like you were in space and you could draw in Virtual Reality. We also got to explore the volcano gallery, all the facts in the gallery were really interesting and the Earthquake room was really fun. But I really would of enjoyed it more if we got to explore other galleries around the Museum.
                                                                                                          Virtual Reality⤵
Then on Friday we had to make a video about our writing. Mine was Tsunami's For my video we used Tinkercad for our background then we put it into Virtual Reality and we drew a big wave over the city that we made in Tinkercad and clouds and a sun but we are finishing it of next time when Wendy and Angelique comes to us.

Tsunamis

A Tsunami is one of the most powerful Naturals Disasters in the world, You would not like to get caught under a Tsunami. They can Swallow any small Island because of the force and impact of the Tsunami. Most Tsunamis are actually caused by Earth’s movement from Tectonic plates. Basically the Earth’s crust is made up of Tectonic plates, When the Tectonic plates shift or move up towards each other to form a mountain or when they split apart that is what causes a Earthquake to form a Tsunami. For example what causes a Tsunami, well the Tectonic plates start to shake which form a Earthquake and then the Earth shakes and moves the current so that it forms big waves and it those waves always head to the flat surface of the small islands and countries surrounded by water. This means that the effect of this Natural disaster is it takes several deaths and injures to people, It also damages and destroys houses buildings and you might even lose your family member, friends or pets.

Also people can get affected by this is they will lose their family member, Pets or friends. And people will get frustrated that they have to buy a new house, clothing such as shoes and clothes.

This wave will rush and flood the area within minutes. This means that they often happen in the Pacific Ocean, so the islands will mostly be flooded. For example the islands in the Pacific Ocean such as Cook island, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and others in the Pacific Ocean will mostly get Tsunami because of the water around the small islands. The effect of this Natural Disaster is that you might have not been in a flood before and you would be frightened and scared at the same time. Another thing is put yourself in the people who has been in a Natural Disasters shoes and you will feel what they have gone through.

As scary as Tsunamis are you don’t really need to worry about them because they don’t happen often. But the biggest wave that was recorded was in 1958 in Lituya Bay in Alaska and was 1,720 tall and wiped out trees. For example about two Tsunamis happen every year and it’s not a problem for the countries like canada they have earthquakes and that’s about what Natural disasters they have. The effect of this is that people could lose their lives, and if you had a Tsunami most of the times then you would have to keep moving your house and keep getting more clothings.
